UPDATE: 22 APRIL 2012: Order processing May to July
Over the next three months (May to July) I will be travelling a fair bit and may not be able to deal with your orders immediately. I'll be on the move several times over these months and may not always have ready access to the internet to process orders. Please be assured that all orders will be dealt with as quickly as possible but it may sometimes take 2-3 days to respond to your queries and orders when I am in transit and if internet access is not available or is unreliable.
PayPal Problems
Some of our customers are having problems getting through to PayPal when ordering. If you are not directed to PayPal when you make your order, it means we do not receive any record of your order and no payment has gone through. If this happens to you, please contact us at info@oceanyarns.com.au and we will complete your order via email. |
The yarns are carefully designed and produced with hand dyers in mind. They are strong and robust to go through the dyeing process and are spun on the worsted system to produce yarns that are less likely to pill or shed than many other yarns. They dye evenly and deeply, providing the perfect canvas to display your talents with natural and acid dyes.
Australian organic merino wool features prominantly in our selection, including some ultrafine, soft and luscious organic merino, shown below.

How Ocean Yarns was born...
Last year I was on holiday in the UK visiting my sister. I was sitting in her kitchen and knitting a pair of socks - one of many pairs in an ongoing sock knitting obsession. John Hewitt from Yarnundyed happened to be visiting her family and saw me knitting. John sources all of the fibres and yarns for the company and we started talking about how difficult it was to find yarns in Australia.
The next day a large box of scrumptious yarn from John arrived in my sister's kitchen. One dive into all those beautiful yarns and I was hooked. In no time, I'd volunteered to be his Australia and New Zealand Distributer. How could I resist the opportunity to get my hands on all that beautiful yarn, to knit with it and introduce others to it?
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
